Cheltenham Festival 2020 Day Two Preview - a look at the big races each day of the Cheltenham Festival 2020 with odds from SBK.
13:30 - Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle
Last year's Champion Bumper winner, Envoi Allen, has carried all before him this season and rates as banker material in this field. Sporting John looks likeliest to follow him home and while last year’s winning trainer – Martin Brassil – may have to settle for minor money this year, his Longhouse Poet can still be expected to go well.
- Envoi Allen – 11/10
- Sporting John – 4/1
- Longhouse Poet – 14/1
Coming into a Grade 1 chase having fallen last time out is hardly the best prep and market leader Champ does have some other question marks, so is passed over for winning purposes. Colin Tizzard’s Copperhead has been mightily impressive in soft ground and should be bang there at the finish but the RSA looks set to head back to Ireland with Minella Indo - a winner at the Festival last year who has looked seriously progressive over larger obstacles this season.
- Minella Indo – 5/1
- Copperhead – 6/1
- Champ – 4/1
15:30 - Queen Mother Champion Chase
Altior’s absence changes the complexion of the race somewhat but it’s still a thriller that will likely be fought out between the market principals - Defi Du Seuil and Chacun Pour Soi. The former is preferred given he has an excellent record at Cheltenham - six victories from seven appearances.
- Defi Du Seuil – 11/10
- Chacun Pour Soi – 11/8
- Dynamite Dollars - 14/1
