The cash out feature on SBK allows users to lock in a profit or cut losses on bets both pre-game and in-play. The amount offered will reflect the performance of your bet’s selection(s).
How this feature works on SBK
Cashing out is the same thing as betting on the opposite outcome to happen. So when you cash out, the app will immediately place a counter bet to the one you placed originally.
When you cash out of your bet, you will receive the cash out amount offered immediately. This change will be seen in your account’s balance.
How to cash out
Once you select the ‘Upcoming’ tab from the ‘My Bets’ section, if the feature is available, you will see the option to cash out under your bet.
Once you have tapped the cash out button, a button to confirm your cash out will appear.
To confirm your cash out, simply click on the ‘confirm’ button.
Please note that your request to cash out is not guaranteed to be accepted. For example, if the market is suspended or the odds move before your request has been processed. If your cash out request is unsuccessful, a message will be shown which gives the reason why and a new cash out value may be offered to you.
Once your cash out has been processed successfully, a confirmation will pop-up.
Once the cash out is completed, the transaction will appear on your account’s bet history.
As you can see in the screenshots above, the balance prior to the cash out confirmation was €89.25 and once the cash out was completed, the balance increased by €0.97, bringing it to a total of €90.22.
Cash out on in-play markets
The cash out button is also available on live events. In-play delays apply to cash out, the same as they do for normal bets. Once you confirm the cash out, there will be a four (for horse racing or darts events) or eight (for all other events) second delay.
Delays are used to ensure that there is enough time to suspend the cash out if an incident that would materially affect the price occurs. This is shown in the example below.
This can then be seen in your transaction history:
As you can see in the screenshots above, the balance prior to the cash out confirmation was €89.58 and once the cash out was completed, the balance increased by €0.03, bringing it to a total of €89.61.
Cashing out Accumulator bets
The cash out feature is available on accumulator bets, however it works a bit differently. The cash out button will not immediately show a price.
You would need to click on the cash out button to view your offer.
Do not constantly tap the cash out button, as this may cause the feature to lag and place the offer without your confirmation, or even cash out of the same bet twice.
This can then be seen in your transaction history:
As you can see in the screenshots above, the balance prior to the cash out confirmation was €86.37 and once the cash out was completed, the balance increased by €0.50, bringing it to a total of €86.87.
If your accumulator consists of selections which are live, the delay period with your cash out request may be extended due to the rapidly-changing in-play odds.
Cashing Out - Outright Betting
You can also cash out of your outright bets, which can be found under the ‘Outright’ tab from the ‘My Bets’ section. If available, the process for cashing out of these bets remains unchanged.
This can then be viewed in your transaction history:
Why can't I cash out?
The cash out feature may not always be available, here are some reasons as to why this may happen:
- Cash out will not be available when a market is suspended
- When cash out is available pre-event and we do not cover or we stop covering the event in-play then cash out will be unavailable
